In an interview with InsideScoopHQ, shared by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Rudiger noted that due to the numerous fixtures ahead for the Spanish giants, defensive rotation, including with fellow defender Eder Militao, would be ideal.
When asked which defender he would like to see join the 15-time Champions League winners, Rudiger responded, “William Saliba. I’m happy with Militao, but with so many games, we could rotate. Having Saliba would be great.”
Rudiger also highlighted Saliba’s partnership with Gabriel at Arsenal, describing them as the “pillar of transformation” for the club. He praised Saliba as a “silent leader” and commended his clean style of play.
The German international, known for his aggressive tackling and versatility, included Saliba in his list of top three centre-backs in world football, alongside Virgil Van Dijk and Gabriel. Both Rudiger and Saliba were nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
When asked about the best player he has shared a dressing room with, Rudiger named Karim Benzema, saying, “I could say Modric, Kroos, or Hazard, but it has to be Karim.”
