Agenebode tribal clash

A violent tribal clash in Agenebode, Edo State, has left several dead. Protests erupted after a boy was killed, leading to fatal reprisals.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] deadly tribal clash erupted last Sunday in Agenebode, the headquarters of Etsako East Local Government Area in Edo State, leaving several people dead in its wake.

The violence reportedly started after a local boy was butchered by settlers accused of involvement in kidnapping activities, sparking outrage among the Ogenebode youth.

Protests broke out in response to the killing, with demonstrators taking to the streets to demand justice.

The situation took a darker turn when police allegedly opened fire on the protesters, killing two individuals.

This action intensified tensions, leading to violent reprisals.

In a wave of retaliation, reports claim that youths in the area set fire to properties, allegedly burning some settlers to death.
