The event, themed “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future,” emphasised the need for innovative local solutions to combat food insecurity.

The week-long activities, led by Honourable Commissioner Abisola Olusanya, included a media parley, an awareness walk, a secondary school debate, and an exhibition of agricultural produce, all designed to highlight the role of sustainable farming.

A key highlight was Origin Tech Group’s ongoing support for smallholder farmers, providing essential tools and modern post-harvest management systems.

The Lagos Food Security System and Logistics Hub (LHP), one of the group’s projects, aims to modernise food storage and distribution, reducing waste and ensuring fresh produce availability across Lagos.

This partnership aligns with the Lagos State Government’s five-year agricultural roadmap, targeting 40% food self-sufficiency by 2025.

Mr. Adebayo Awoniyi-Adeoshun, representing Prince S. J. Samuel, Executive Chairman of Origin Tech Group, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to food security and sustainability.

The company’s Middle-Level Market initiative, launched in Mushin, connects consumers directly to farmers, enhancing food affordability and accessibility while boosting farmers’ earnings.
