Prostar sports international celebrates Nigerian women in sports on national girls, women in sports day

On National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Prostar Sports International honours Nigerian female athletes’ achievements and calls for greater inclusion

 

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s the world marks National Girls and Women in Sports Day today, 5 February, Prostar Sports International is celebrating the achievements and contributions of Nigerian women in sports.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering female athletes across Nigeria.

In a statement, Ambassador Paul Maduakor, Managing Director and CEO of Prostar Sports International, highlighted the transformative role of Nigerian women in sports.

“Nigerian girls and women are redefining the sports landscape with their talent, resilience, and determination. From grassroots development to international competitions, they continue to set new standards and inspire future generations,” Maduakor said.

As an official partner of the Nigeria National League (NNL), Prostar Sports International is dedicated to fostering an inclusive sporting environment.

The company emphasised the importance of supporting female athletes, coaches, referees, and administrators to ensure equal opportunities.

“At Prostar, we believe the future of sports is inclusive. We are dedicated to creating platforms that empower female athletes to thrive and succeed, both on and off the field,” Maduakor added.

Coinciding with the celebration, the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership enters Matchday 4, featuring thrilling fixtures:

– Dannaz Ladies vs. Edo Queens (Lagos)
– Nasarawa Amazons vs. Ekiti Queens (Lafia)
– Abia Angels vs. Confluence Queens (Umuahia)
– Remo Stars Ladies vs. Heartland Queens (Ikenne)
– Delta Queens vs. Rivers Angels (Asaba)
– Ibom Angels vs. Benue Queens (Uyo)
– FC Robo Queens vs. Naija Ratels (Lagos)
– Bayelsa Queens vs. Adamawa Queens (Yenagoa)

 

Prostar Sports International applauded the NWFL for advancing women’s football and providing a platform for young talents to showcase their abilities.

The company also recognised Nigerian female sports icons who have gained global recognition, serving as role models for young athletes.

“Their achievements are a testament to what can be accomplished when girls and women are given the opportunity to excel in sports,” Maduakor stated.
