Forum recommends Deputy to act, after Supreme Court ruling. South East zone to nominate substantive secretary amidst ongoing controversy
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has resolved to recommend the Deputy National Secretary to act as the National Secretary, following a recent Supreme Court judgment.

This decision comes as a shift from the forum’s initial stance in Asaba, where they had recognized Udeh-Okoye as the substantive National Secretary.
Announced in a communique read by the Chairman and Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Mohammed, the forum stated that this move is aimed at allowing the South East Zone to nominate a new substantive National Secretary.
The South East Zone, which had previously maintained its nomination of Udeh-Okoye, is now expected to nominate a replacement to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, in accordance with the party’s constitution (as amended in 2017).
This directive is a direct response to the Supreme Court’s ruling and seeks to maintain party unity.
The forum emphasized that the Deputy National Secretary will assume the acting role, providing a temporary solution while the South East zone deliberates and presents its nomination.
