Idimu Lagos beheaded body cult violence

Two men, one beheaded, were found dead in Idimu, Lagos, raising fears of cult violence as residents demand swift police action

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]ension and fear gripped residents of Idimu in Lagos State following the shocking discovery of two lifeless bodies one of them beheaded along Oladun Road on Sunday morning.

The gruesome incident, believed to have occurred late Saturday night, has sparked fresh concerns over cult-related violence in the area.

The victims’ bodies were found lying several metres apart, drawing a stunned crowd of residents and passersby.

One of the deceased was identified as Baba Oja, a well-known local figure who frequently helped direct traffic near the Council bus stop.

“We woke up to see their lifeless bodies… The other person is Baba Oja. He is very popular in this area,” said resident Lanre Ajao.

Another resident, Jamiu Raji, suggested that the nature of the killings points to cult-related violence. “It is related to a cult attack because of the way the two of them were killed. Incidents like this are not common in this area,” he said.

Disturbingly, eyewitnesses claim that the bodies remained at the scene for nearly 10 hours before police arrived.

One resident, speaking anonymously, also alleged that the victims’ families were made to pay money before being allowed to retrieve the corpses.

As of press time, attempts to reach Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, for comment were unsuccessful.

This incident follows a string of cult-related killings reported earlier in the year, including clashes in Mushin (Lagos) and Lantoro (Abeokuta, Ogun State), which left at least three people dead.

Authorities are urged to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served and restore security in the community.
