PWAN Homes land dispute

A Lagos resident, Olamilekan Yussuff, has accused PWAN Homes of failing to allocate three plots of land his brother purchased in 2016, despite repeated follow-ups and complaints

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]lamilekan Yussuff, a Lagos resident, has accused PWAN Homes of refusing to allocate three plots of land his brother paid for in 2016.

Yussuff told FIJ that his brother, who lived abroad, paid N3 million for two plots of land in Lekki during a PWAN Homes promotional offer, which included an extra plot. Despite multiple follow-ups, the family has not received the land.

Yussuff stated that he followed up with the real estate company on his brother’s behalf, but PWAN Homes repeatedly made unfulfilled promises.

In 2019, PWAN Homes invited Yussuff to their Lagos headquarters, where he and other prospective landowners were taken to the land area they had paid for, which was largely uncleared.

“We asked why a greater part of the land was still uncleared, but they said their workers were still working on the area and that they would finish clearing it up in a week or two. that day, they didn’t call until I called them again a month after the first visit,” Yussuff told FIJ.

“When I got to their office, they said their labourers hadn’t finished what they were doing on the land and that it would be completed in the following months.

This is bad. I told them my brother wouldn’t take it lightly with them, but they said no problem. It has been nine years, yet PWAN Homes is unwilling to give my brother his land

then, I have been writing to them. They give me appointments, saying, ‘come today or tomorrow’, but that is where it all ends.”

Yussuff said he learned of a PWAN Homes office in Ikorodu in early 2025 and lodged the same complaint there. A customer representative assured him the information would be relayed to the head office, but he received no further response.

“This is bad. I told them my brother wouldn’t take it lightly with them, but they said no problem. It has been nine years, yet PWAN Homes is unwilling to give my brother his land,” he said.

FIJ reached out to PWAN Homes, and a representative claimed that the three plots at Tehilla Gardens Estate had been allocated (Block G8, Plots 4, 6, and 8). The representative added that the client’s Survey Plan and Deed of Assignment were available for collection.

In May, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) flagged PWAN Homes’ real estate investments as fraudulent, following multiple FIJ reports.
