Lagos NURTW Chieftain, Istijabah, has publicly accused former chairman MC Oluomo of pressuring union members into debt to fund lavish lifestyles, including allegedly gifting a Venza car paid for by Istijabah to actress Aisha Lawal

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] prominent Lagos National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Chieftain, Istijabah, has launched a scathing attack against the union’s former State chairman, MC Oluomo, accusing him of widespread financial impropriety and abuse of power, including allegedly pressuring members into debt to fund lavish lifestyles and impress Nollywood personalities.

Istijabah’s public response came in the wake of an alleged recent verbal assault on him by one of MC Oluomo’s aides, known as ‘Legacy’.

In a series of explosive allegations, Istijabah claimed that a Venza car he personally worked hard to pay for ended up as a gift to popular actress Aisha Lawal.

“Actress Aisha Lawal benefitted a Venza I worked hard to pay for, while MC Oluomo kept on pressuring us into debt to impress his Nollywood ladies,” Istijabah alleged.

He further stated, “Aisha Lawal my car is with you, if not that I have given the papers out, I would have collected it back, I bought the Venza in question not him.”

Beyond the Venza incident, Istijabah detailed broader accusations of financial exploitation within the union. He claimed that large sums of money, including ₦6 million and over ₦20 million, were allegedly collected from union branches for positions that were never granted.

Actress Aisha Lawal benefitted a Venza I worked hard to pay for, while MC Oluomo kept on pressuring us into debt to impress his Nollywood ladies.

He also cited the case of a “bikeman” who purportedly paid ₦10 million for a zonal chairman position but received nothing, leading to severe financial distress and debt.

Istijabah further alleged that MC Oluomo’s actions have “spoilt both home and away,” leading to the destruction of his personal properties, including motors and a filling station, and even a vehicle being burnt down.

He also made a grave accusation of a life being taken: “the person you killed, every evidence are with me.”

The aggrieved chieftain asserted his own financial independence, stating that despite being relieved of his job for over a year and three months, he continues to pay his children’s fees in Canada and Germany and has even built a secondary school, a central mosque, and a mini-estate.

He contrasted this with the alleged financial ruin caused by MC Oluomo.

Istijabah also recounted a chilling incident where, after he sought intervention from “Jagaban, the president of Nigeria,” regarding Oluomo’s alleged actions, he received a call warning his mother not to go to her shop the next day as “they are coming to kill her.”

This, he said, led him to report Oluomo to God, stating, “I can say that is the only bad thing I did to him, and it’s not a bad thing, I just reported him to God.”

He concluded by threatening to expose all of MC Oluomo’s alleged wrongdoings, stating he has evidence for everything and that only the state chairman can stop him. He also urged the return of money to others allegedly defrauded.
