[dropcap]S[/dropcap]uspected herdsmen have launched a brutal night attack on Tse Yange, a Tiv community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing the village head and abducting an undisclosed number of residents.

The assault, which occurred late on Sunday and stretched into the early hours of Monday, has left the community in disarray.
Armed assailants reportedly stormed the village on motorbikes, firing indiscriminately and causing widespread panic and destruction.
A local source who spoke under anonymity confirmed the death of the village leader and said the attackers kidnapped several individuals, although the precise number remains unknown.
They came on motorbikes and shot sporadically, killing our village head and taking many away.
Many residents fled their homes amid the chaos, while others sustained injuries during the invasion.
As of Monday morning, security forces had yet to release an official statement on the incident, and rescue efforts for the abducted victims were still underway.
The attack adds to the growing list of violent incidents plaguing rural communities in central Nigeria, where clashes involving suspected herdsmen have become increasingly frequent.

The latest strike raises renewed concerns over the safety of farming communities in Nasarawa and neighbouring states, especially in regions dominated by the Tiv ethnic group, which has suffered repeated raids over recent years.
