The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, disclosed this on Tuesday, November 3, during a press conference at the DSS Command headquarters in Kaduna.
Rabiu said the operations were part of sustained efforts to identify and dismantle criminal networks responsible for repeated kidnapping incidents in Millennium City and surrounding communities.
He noted that the activities of the kidnappers had generated considerable public concern over the safety of residents and other stakeholders.
The rescued victims were identified as Jamila Muhammad, 27; Talatu Yakubu, 40; Yunana Bawa, 30; Calista Bishop, 27; Chidinma Onuwere, 36; Eucharia Obi, 41; Godiya Victor, 50; and eight-year-old Miracle Alex.
The latest rescue came weeks after security agencies freed Ahmad Zakka and members of his family from captivity on October 15, 2026.
According to the police commissioner, the successive operations demonstrated the commitment of security agencies to securing the release of abducted persons and bringing those responsible to justice.
He acknowledged the coordination provided by the Office of the National Security Adviser, the operational support of the police, intelligence efforts of the DSS and the involvement of the military.
Rabiu also commended the Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Uba Sani, for supporting security operations against kidnapping and banditry.
The commissioner said security operations would be sustained and strengthened to tackle kidnapping and banditry across the state.
However, he identified the difficult terrain in some parts of Kaduna as one of the challenges exploited by criminal groups.
To improve operational capacity, Rabiu announced the deployment of additional security equipment, including 30 patrol vans and eight armoured personnel carriers.
He said the deployment was intended to strengthen security coverage and restrict the movement of criminal elements.
The police commissioner urged residents to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information about suspected kidnappers, bandits and other criminal activities.
He assured residents that information supplied would be treated confidentially and acted upon appropriately.
Rabiu also called on traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to support efforts to restore peace across the state.
He appealed to media organisations to maintain responsible reporting and avoid circulating unverified information that could undermine security operations or create unnecessary panic.
