PDP in Alimosho affirms unity and readiness to win across all council areas in the July 12 elections, urging LASIEC to conduct a free and fair process

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]DP declares readiness Alimosho as the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State’s largest local government area signals its strong ambition to reclaim grassroots leadership in the upcoming July 12 council elections.

The party’s local chairman, Isiaka Shodiya, voiced this confidence during a statement on Saturday, asserting that the PDP is fully mobilised and positioned to win across Alimosho LGA and its five Local Council Development Areas Igando-Ikotun, Egbe-Idimu, Mosan-Okunola, Ayobo-Ipaja and Agbado-Oke Odo.

“We are proud of the PDP today. We are united and determined to win across all council areas in this local government,” Shodiya declared, adding, “PDP is fully on ground in Alimosho and Lagos State. By the special grace of Almighty God, we shall be victorious.”

His remarks come just days after the party officially unveiled its chairmanship and councillorship candidates in Lagos, with growing optimism among supporters following months of community engagement and party restructuring.

Shodiya also used the occasion to call on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to ensure the elections are transparent and credible. He urged the commission to conduct a process that reflects the will of the people.

Alimosho, one of the most politically strategic LGAs in Lagos, has long been considered a stronghold of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). However, Shodiya believes the ruling party has underperformed.

“The APC is failing to deliver on its electoral promises to the people,” he said, encouraging residents to seize the opportunity for change by supporting PDP candidates.

As campaign momentum builds ahead of the July 12 polls, the PDP is banking on a message of unity and revival to rally support in Alimosho a constituency often seen as a microcosm of wider electoral sentiments in Lagos.
