ogogo health scare recovery story

Veteran Nollywood actor Ogogo opens up about a shocking health crisis that left him bedridden for seven years. His recovery journey is nothing short of inspiring

[dropcap]V[/dropcap]eteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, fondly known as Ogogo, has broken his silence on a traumatic health ordeal that nearly took his life and left him bedridden for seven years.

While speaking on Oyinmomo TV, the Yoruba film legend revealed the shocking moment it all began. On his way to a film set for the late Arakangudu, Ogogo experienced a sudden, stabbing pain in his chest.

He pushed through with the help of his apprentice and arrived on set despite the discomfort.

Remi Surutu, a colleague on location, suspected an ulcer and urged him to break his fast. Ogogo hesitated but eventually drank a mixture of milk and water, which gave him brief relief.

Thinking he was battling malaria, he relied on local remedies. However, as the symptoms worsened, he turned to doctors and was diagnosed with a chronic ulcer.

“The doctor said he didn’t know how I survived without medical treatment. It was the mercy of God,” Ogogo recalled.

For months, he vomited blood, struggled to eat, and could only take pap. Even daily prayers had to be done while seated due to his weakness. His condition was dire but never completely hopeless.

“For good seven years, I was ill. For seven months, I was vomiting blood, couldn’t eat anything except pap,” he added.

Support poured in from loved ones, including a UK-based pastor who prayed with him over the phone for 45 minutes. His faith, discipline, and the mercy of God kept him alive.

Despite the severity of his condition, Ogogo clarified he never had to sell any property or endure major financial loss.

His disciplined lifestyle, which excludes smoking and drinking, helped maintain a stable foundation during his recovery.

Now fully recovered, Ogogo says he is grateful to be alive and continues to cherish the strength that saw him through his darkest years.
