FAAN passenger conduct appeal follows KWAM 1 and KWAM 2 incidents, urging calm, courtesy, and professionalism across Nigerian airports

FAAN passenger conduct appeal has taken centre stage as the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria urged travelers and aviation workers to remain calm, courteous, and professional in the wake of recent high-profile clashes at airports.

The appeal follows two widely reported incidents first involving Fuji music icon KWAM 1, and later a passenger identified as Comfort Emmanson, now dubbed “KWAM 2” after a heated confrontation aboard an Ibom Air flight.

In a Saturday statement shared on its official X account, FAAN stressed that violence has no place in aviation.

“Stay calm, Stay Safe: No matter the situation, violence is never the answer. If you have a concern, visit the FAAN Customer Service Desk to lodge a formal complaint your issue will be addressed promptly and professionally,” the Authority wrote.

Both episodes sparked public outrage after videos of altercations between passengers and aviation staff spread widely on social media, igniting debates on the responsibilities of both travelers and crew.

FAAN reminded aviation professionals of their role in maintaining order and public trust.

Safety and Service First: Pilots and staff are urged to prioritise passenger safety, operational excellence, and clear communication.

Service with Courtesy: Cabin crew are encouraged to remain professional and courteous, even under pressure, with ongoing training to strengthen conflict management.

The Authority reassured the public of its commitment to safe, secure, and comfortable air travel across Nigeria.

“Your Safety, Our Priority: FAAN is committed to ensuring safety, security, and comfort at all our airports — so every journey begins and ends with peace of mind.”

As debates continue online, FAAN’s strong stance signals its determination to restore calm and uphold professionalism within Nigeria’s aviation system.
