Lyvads launches in Nigeria, connecting creators, brands, and businesses in a bold move to transform Africa’s booming digital content economy

Lyvads, a trailblazing personalized video content platform, has officially launched in Nigeria, aiming to revolutionize the fast-growing creator economy by bridging the gap between content creators, brands, and consumers.

With over 207 million global creators projected by 2025, Lyvads emerges as Africa’s response to platforms like Cameo, offering a marketplace where users can book personalized videos from influencers, comedians, motivational speakers, and other verified talents.

According to Lyvads’ CEO and Founder, Abiodun Owotomo, the platform was born out of necessity.

A campaign struggle to connect with local creators led to the idea of a centralized, structured space tailored to Africa’s needs.

“Lyvads is more than a platform—it’s a movement for Africa’s voice and culture,” Owotomo said, praising his team’s relentless innovation.

He highlighted the app’s focus on building community, loyalty, and sustainability for creators—a massive leap from scattered influencer marketing.

The global creator economy reached $250 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow to $480 billion by 2027, per Goldman Sachs.

In parallel, social commerce could hit $2.9 trillion by 2026, Statista reports—numbers Lyvads is positioned to tap into.

David Goriola, Product Consultant at Lyvads, emphasized the platform’s capacity to clear structural hurdles, manage data flows, and offer creators scalable opportunities.

“We’re building an ecosystem, not just facilitating brand endorsements,” Goriola noted.

The launch of Lyvads drew praise from Sadiq Rabiu, Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Capacity Development.

He called Lyvads a “pathway to the future of work”, aligning with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“It bridges creativity with commerce and gives young Nigerians a platform to learn, earn, and lead,” he said.

Adebisi Peters, Lyvads’ Brand & Marketing Manager, reinforced the company’s vision to be a global marketplace for video content, driving meaningful engagement across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.

Marketing strategist Samuel Sokale of UpInTheSky described Lyvads as a timely innovation, urging the platform to engage brand owners, agencies, and integrated marketing professionals to harmonize the ecosystem.

He advised creators to maintain flexibility with pricing to attract broader patronage from clients and agencies alike.

With platforms like Lyvads rising, the global marketing industry is taking notice.

The Cannes Lions Festival recently rebranded its “Social & Influencer Lions” to “Social & Creator Lions”, introducing categories to honor creator-led campaigns.

For creators on Lyvads, this global recognition offers a chance to leverage their local influence for international success.

As Lyvads integrates deeper into the Nigerian digital ecosystem, it stands as a symbol of youth innovation, economic transformation, and Africa’s digital potential.
