Despite her successful career as a respected broadcaster and former host of Your View, Morayo revealed that she once silently battled depression — to the point of contemplating suicide.
“I was depressed. At a point, I was suicidal. I walked on the express, hoping a car would hit me. It was that bad,” Morayo confessed during the interview.
According to her, the emotional weight of feeling stuck in her job — despite outward success — pushed her into a dark mental space.
She admitted that although the idea of leaving had been on her mind for some time, it wasn’t until the show marked its 10-year milestone that she received what she described as a light-bulb moment.
“I have been harbouring that thought for a while but didn’t know how to go about it. But last year, I got that light-bulb moment,” she added.
Morayo’s decision to speak out has resonated strongly with fans and mental health advocates, many of whom are praising her for shedding light on the often-hidden battles that public figures face.
Her vulnerability serves as a powerful reminder that mental health issues can affect anyone, regardless of success or fame.
