Mariah Lucciano-Gabriel, Head of Integrated Gas Ventures at Asharami Energy, and Yetunde Sorinola, Chief Financial Officer at Egbin Power Plc, earned places on the coveted list.

This recognition underscores Sahara Group’s strategic commitment to nurturing leadership that drives innovation, resilience, and impact across the energy value chain.

Moroti Adedoyin-Adeyinka, Executive Director at Sahara Group, hailed the achievement as a reflection of Sahara’s values.

“Mariah and Yetunde embody the Sahara spirit—resilient, innovative, and driven. Their recognition confirms our belief in empowering talent that can create lasting value both locally and globally,” she said.

Bethel Obioma, Sahara Group’s Head of Corporate Communications, added that the recognition mirrors the company’s people-first approach.

“We believe in giving our people platforms to maximize their abilities. Through creativity, ambidexterity, and bold thinking, we’re building an energy workforce that drives impact beyond borders.”

Lucciano-Gabriel has been instrumental in expanding Sahara’s midstream gas business, leading revenue growth and championing access to cleaner energy.

“This honor reaffirms the power of African talent and our capacity to lead global energy conversations,” she said.

Sorinola, who steers financial operations at Africa’s largest privately owned thermal power plant, emphasized the importance of governance and mentorship.

“Reliable power fuels development. At Sahara, we are committed to sustainability, financial integrity, and empowering the next generation.”

NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, noted that the honorees are leaders in both industry and community.

“They exemplify what happens when women are empowered in energy—mentorship, innovation, and impact multiply.”
