ADC National working committee meeting held its inaugural session with a strong message from former Senate President and National Chairman, David Mark, promising a radical shift in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The high-level meeting, which took place behind closed doors after opening remarks, brought together key national leaders including National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former SGF Babachir Lawal, and former Edo State Governor Professor Oserheimen Osunbor.
In his address, David Mark emphasised that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is determined to break from the political norm of self-interest, saying the party is not seeking power for its own sake but to build a lasting legacy rooted in service.
“We are in a marathon; we must compete and win. Failure is not an option,” Mark declared, underlining that the ADC aims to become an institution “bigger than any personality” and “stronger than any moment.”
He described the ADC leadership as pan-African, people-oriented, and problem-solving, noting the party’s sensitivity to issues affecting persons with disabilities, the elderly, and the vulnerable in society.
According to Mark, the ADC’s political mission stands on four firm pillars: character, competence, courage and discipline, adding that these standards are non-negotiable.
“The road will be uphill. Sacrifice will be demanded. Those threatened by democracy will resist it. Still, we advance – calmly, courageously, together,” he told members of the National Working Committee.

The ADC National Working Committee Meeting signals the party’s readiness to challenge existing political structures by focusing on unity, inclusion and purpose-driven leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
