Victor Boniface market value drops by €20m in Bundesliga, following poor form, failed AC Milan move, and Super Eagles exclusion
Victor Boniface market value has taken a dramatic hit, with the Nigerian striker losing €20 million in valuation — the biggest drop in the Bundesliga, according to Transfermarkt’s latest update.

The 24-year-old, once celebrated as one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking exports, has seen his worth halved from €40m to €20m, following a string of underwhelming performances and a failed transfer to Italian giants AC Milan.
Boniface, currently on loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen, has yet to find the net for his new club after four substitute appearances.
While he managed a single assist in a 4–0 thrashing of Borussia Mönchengladbach, his overall impact has been minimal.
The sharp decline marks a painful chapter in what had been a meteoric rise.
Just last year, Boniface played a key role in Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten Bundesliga title run, collecting three trophies and reaching a career-high valuation of €45m.
However, his summer move to AC Milan collapsed after reports emerged that the striker failed his medical — a significant blow that now appears to have triggered a domino effect on his career trajectory.
On the international front, things are no better.
Since Eric Chelle took over as Super Eagles head coach, Boniface has struggled to cement a place in the national team setup.
He was overlooked for recent World Cup qualifiers, with Chelle opting for Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare, and Terem Moffi as backups to Victor Osimhen.
Boniface’s fall from favour has now seen him slip to sixth among the most valuable Nigerian players.
He also ranks 57th in the Bundesliga overall, 68th among players born in 2000, and 79th among all centre-forwards globally.
Once seen as a cornerstone for both club and country, Boniface now faces the challenge of rebuilding confidence, form, and fitness in a fiercely competitive environment.
Other Nigerian players in the Bundesliga held steady in the update — Nathan Tella (€15m), Felix Agu (€8m), Jordan Torunarigha (€4m), and Kevin Akpoguma (€2.5m) saw no change.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the league, Jamal Musiala (unchanged at €140m) now tops the Bundesliga valuation chart following Florian Wirtz’s move to Liverpool, while Michael Olise — who also has Nigerian heritage — saw his value jump €30m to €130m.
In one of the more eye-catching rises, Lennart Karl, a 2008-born prospect, skyrocketed from €1.5m to €20m — a staggering 1,233% increase.

But for Boniface, who only a year ago was flying high, the latest valuation update reflects a harsh reality: football’s highs can be quickly followed by unforgiving lows.
