Progressive Governors Forum meeting held in Kebbi

Progressive Governors forum meeting held in Kebbi to discuss key national and internal APC matters, led by Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Progressive Governors forum meeting convened behind closed doors on Thursday night at the Council Chamber of the Kebbi State Government House, Birnin Kebbi, bringing together governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The session, chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, focused on pressing national developments as well as internal party matters critical to the future direction of the ruling party.

Although the APC National Chairman, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, was also in Kebbi State at the time, he did not attend the meeting.

His presence in the state was instead tied to the inauguration of the Tinubu Kauran Gwandu Movement for Continuity State Secretariat, which he confirmed via a statement earlier on Thursday.

“Over the next two days, APC governors will engage in closed-door sessions to deliberate on critical national and party matters.

As a party, we remain committed to the unity, good governance, and the vision of the Renewed Hope for all Nigerians,” Yilwatda wrote.

While details of the meeting’s resolutions remain under wraps, sources suggest that topics included security coordination, economic recovery strategies, and intra-party alignment ahead of key electoral and policy milestones.

The Progressive Governors Forum has often served as a strategic platform for consensus-building within the APC, offering state-level perspectives on federal issues and coordinating across geopolitical zones for unified party direction.
