Fubara Issues Warning

Governor Siminalayi Fubara warns Rivers State political appointees against holding meetings without approval

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has warned that any government appointee who convenes meetings without his approval risks dismissal.

The declaration was made on 26 February 2026 during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Secretary to the State Government, Dr Dagogo Wokoma, and Chief of Staff, Barrister Sunny Ewule, at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House.

Governor Fubara emphasised that these appointments are intended to advance the state’s development agenda rather than serve as instruments of political patronage.

He stated that officials must prioritise the goals of government and avoid actions that could disrupt administration operations.

In addition, Fubara reminded Permanent Secretaries approaching retirement to prepare comprehensive handover notes to ensure seamless transitions within the civil service.
