Edo Police arrest three suspects over kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Emiliano in Egor, confirming suspects remain in custody for prosecution

Edo Police has arrested three individuals linked to the kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Emiliano Egwunbare in Obagie Community, Egor Local Government Area.

The 18-year-old prime suspect, Tega Emajuwa, allegedly carried out the crime alongside two accomplices, Edugie Destiny (20) and Osayande Vincent (23).

The suspects reportedly kidnapped Emiliano, collected ransom from his parents, but did not release him.

Sources revealed that Emajuwa had lived with Emiliano’s family for several months before committing the crime on September 16, 2025.

Police were alerted following the ransom payment, and intelligence-led operations led to the arrests of all three suspects.

Deputy Spokesperson ASP Eno Ikoedem confirmed that the suspects confessed, revealing the location of Emiliano’s body, which was found in a well. Disturbingly, reports indicate that some of the victim’s vital organs were harvested.

ASP Ikoedem dismissed circulating claims that the suspects had been released, affirming that they were charged in court on October 16, 2025, and remain remanded for prosecution.

The deceased’s mother was present during the court proceedings.
