Soludo wins Anambra election as INEC declares APGA candidate victorious with 422,664 votes against APC’s Ukachukwu’s 99,445
Professor Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been declared winner of the Anambra State governorship election, following the official announcement of results from all 21 local government areas by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC confirmed that a total of 584,054 votes were recorded across the state, with Soludo securing 422,664 votes, maintaining a decisive lead over his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes.
Other parties trailed behind, with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) earning 8,208 votes, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) managing 1,401 votes.
The results were announced by Prof. Edogah Omoregie, the State Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, at the INEC headquarters in Awka on Sunday.
With this victory, Soludo retains his position as the state’s leading political force, further strengthening APGA’s dominance in Anambra’s political landscape.

Political Reactions
Following the declaration, APGA supporters across the state took to the streets in celebration, describing Soludo’s victory as a “renewed mandate for continuity and stability.”
In a brief statement, Soludo thanked the people of Anambra for their overwhelming trust, promising to “sustain reforms, promote local enterprise, and ensure good governance across all sectors.”
Meanwhile, the Obidient Movement and other opposition figures alleged cases of vote buying and voter intimidation, though INEC maintained that the election was generally peaceful and transparent.

Soludo’s re-election cements his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most reform-minded governors — and sets the tone for APGA’s strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
