Reliable sources confirmed that the twenty-four students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, have regained their freedom and are being transported to Birnin Kebbi for medical assessment and debriefing.

A senior government official stated that the girls were already en route to the State House, describing the development as a moment of powerful relief for anxious families and communities who had waited helplessly for updates.

The official added that the state authorities had worked tirelessly with security operatives to ensure the safe return of the students.

The atmosphere in Birnin Kebbi is expected to shift significantly as parents prepare to reunite with their children, following what many described as an emotionally draining ordeal.

The Kebbi Schoolgirls Rescue comes at a time when public confidence in school safety has been repeatedly tested, prompting renewed conversations about long-term protections for vulnerable communities.

Although details of the rescue operation remain limited, officials emphasised that the wellbeing of the girls is the immediate priority. Medical teams have been placed on standby to provide comprehensive evaluation as part of the government’s post-rescue protocol.

Residents across the state expressed relief at the positive news, noting that the Kebbi Schoolgirls Rescue represents an encouraging outcome amid ongoing security challenges.
