Governor Kefas received his APC membership card on Monday during a brief ceremony at the T.Y. Danjuma House in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The presentation was conducted by the State Chairman of the APC, alongside members of the party’s executive committee and officials from Wukari Local Government Area, where the governor hails from.

Speaking after receiving the card, Governor Kefas thanked party officials for the gesture and confirmed that his decision to join the APC had already been communicated to the party’s national leadership.

He explained that the formal defection ceremony, earlier scheduled for November 19, was postponed in solidarity with national challenges, particularly the abduction of schoolchildren in Kebbi State and other parts of the country.

Governor Kefas said the registration marked an important step in his political transition, even as a new date for the official ceremony is awaited.

He said the move was necessary to give him a new political identity within the APC and enable him to play an active role in strengthening the party in Taraba State.

The governor assured party members of his commitment to unity and development, urging them to sustain their efforts ahead of his formal reception.

Governor Kefas added that his administration would continue to work towards ensuring that Taraba State benefits fully from democratic governance.
