Real Madrid are currently being overseen on an interim basis by former defender Álvaro Arbeloa after Alonso stepped down on Monday, less than eight months into his tenure.
Klopp, 57, is currently serving as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, a post he took up in January 2025 after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023 to 2024 season.
Despite holding a long-term contract with the energy drinks group, the opportunity to manage Real Madrid is understood to be of strong interest to the German coach.
Sky Germany reported on Tuesday that Klopp “would give serious consideration” to the role if the Spanish club were to make a formal approach.
The broadcaster had previously reported in December that Klopp was among the names being monitored by Madrid in the event that Alonso left his position.
Klopp ended his nine-year spell at Liverpool citing the need for rest after an intense and highly successful period at Anfield, during which he won six major trophies, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
