The meeting was part of a promotional activity for her movie, Behind The Scenes, and offered Akindele the opportunity to connect personally with members of the lupus community.

Akindele said the experience had left a profound impact on her, noting that the interactions underscored the importance of raising awareness for medical conditions often misunderstood or stigmatised.

“Meeting people living with lupus who felt seen through Behind The Scenes reminded me why stories rooted in empathy, self-care and self-love truly matter,” she said.
