Former champions Senegal dominated possession throughout the match against a cautious Egypt side that focused on defensive shape and counter attacks.

The goal sparked an electric response from the Senegal supporters inside the stadium and shifted the momentum firmly away from Egypt, who struggled to mount a meaningful response in the closing stages.
Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy made several important saves earlier in the match to keep the contest level, including a first half stop from Ismaila Sarr and a late block from Idrissa Gueye.
Senegal head coach Aliou Cissé praised the team’s patience and control after the match, describing the performance as disciplined and powerful in its execution.
Egypt head coach Rui Vitória said the team had defended well for long periods but accepted that Senegal’s control of the ball eventually proved overwhelming.
The result sends Senegal into Sunday’s final, where the team will face either hosts Morocco or Nigeria, depending on the outcome of the second semi final.
