Cubana Chief Priest 2027 House bid sees the celebrity entrepreneur join APC to contest a federal seat in Imo, pledging loyalty to President Tinubu
Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has formally announced his intention to contest a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections under the All Progressives Congress.

The announcement was made on Tuesday via the celebrity businessman’s Instagram page, where he described the move as politically strategic, aligning with the ruling party to maximise influence at the federal level.
Cubana Chief Priest said remaining within the APC provides a stronger platform to advocate for the release of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
He stressed that operating outside government diminishes one’s capacity to drive meaningful change.
“I no fit help Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from opposition. I have always been an APC. My father, Governor Hope, has worked hard on APC for me not to support him as DG renewed hope,” he stated.
Addressing questions about his previous support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during the 2023 elections, he clarified that his involvement occurred while serving as Special Adviser to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
He affirmed his current political loyalty lies firmly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC leadership.
Cubana Chief Priest described his 2027 ambition as a conscious shift from online influence to direct political engagement, arguing that the South-East region requires younger, influential actors embedded within the system to effectively advocate for its interests at the federal level.
