They Don’t Care About Us” debuts as “Billie Jean” resurges globally

Michael Jackson Top 10 Comeback sees “They Don’t Care About Us” debut in the R&B top 10 as “Billie Jean” resurges across global Billboard charts

Michael Jackson has achieved a remarkable dual milestone on the latest Billboard charts, securing a new top 10 entry on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart while simultaneously returning one of his most iconic hits to the upper tier of multiple rankings.

The posthumous surge sees “They Don’t Care About Us” debut at No. 10 on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart, marking its first appearance in the top bracket of the digital-only ranking in the United States.

The socially charged track, originally released in 1996, has found renewed momentum in the digital era.

At the same time, “Billie Jean” reenters the same chart at No. 8, narrowly missing its previous peak of No. 7.

The achievement makes Jackson the only artist this week to occupy more than one position within the chart’s top 10, underscoring the enduring strength of his catalogue.

The R&B Digital Song Sales chart is otherwise led by contemporary releases, including a strong showing from Bruno Mars, while Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You” continues its familiar presence.

Against that competitive backdrop, the Michael Jackson Top 10 Comeback stands out as both nostalgic and commercially significant.

The two resurgent singles reflect different chapters of Jackson’s career.

“Billie Jean,” released in 1983 from the landmark album “Thriller”, became one of his defining works and topped the Billboard Hot 100 at the height of his global dominance.

“They Don’t Care About Us,” by contrast, emerged in 1996 as part of “HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I”.

Although it peaked at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its original release, the track’s powerful themes have resonated anew with modern audiences, driving its current digital breakthrough.

Beyond the United States, “Billie Jean” is also experiencing a broader resurgence.

The song reenters the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, rising from No. 115 to No. 96, while climbing to No. 114 on the Billboard Global 200.

The renewed global traction highlights Jackson’s cross generational and borderless appeal.

Album performance has strengthened as well.

The compilation “Number Ones” climbs to a new peak of No. 35 on the Top Streaming Albums chart and continues to hold firm at No. 2 on the Top R&B Albums chart and No. 6 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums ranking.

The collection has also reached 200 weeks on the Top Album Sales chart, an extraordinary milestone that reinforces Jackson’s lasting commercial power.

Decades after his passing, Jackson’s presence on the charts remains more than symbolic.

The latest figures confirm that his music continues to captivate new listeners while re engaging longtime fans, proving that the King of Pop’s influence is not merely historic but actively evolving.
