The Nigeria FIFAe Nations League Qualification was confirmed across all three competitive divisions: eFootball (console), eFootball (mobile), and Rocket League.
FIFA announced that 115 countries qualified in the console category, 81 in mobile, and 84 in Rocket League, with Nigeria earning a place in each format.
The development represents a powerful boost for Nigeria’s growing esports ambitions, particularly after the country narrowly missed out on progressing further at the 2025 FIFAe World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Nigeria’s campaign ended in the quarter-finals following defeat to South Africa.
With qualification secured, focus will now shift to preparations as Nigerian gamers aim to make a stronger impact on the international stage.
Participation in the FIFAe Nations League provides a vital platform to showcase the nation’s expanding digital football talent and consolidate its presence in the competitive gaming community.
Away from esports, Nigeria is also awaiting a decision from FIFA on a petition filed by the Nigeria Football Federation against the Fédération Congolaise de Football Association over alleged player eligibility concerns during their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff clash.
DR Congo progressed after winning on penalties to advance to the intercontinental playoff stage. Should FIFA rule in Nigeria’s favour, the Super Eagles could yet receive a lifeline in their qualification bid.
