Nigerian singer Shanko Rasheed has been publicly accused of neglect and abandonment by his wife following the death of their son.

The allegations emerged days after Rasheed announced the passing of his child on social media, describing the loss as a tragedy no parent should endure.

In a video circulating online, his wife claimed that Rasheed left her to care for their three children alone after she suffered an accident on October 11, which affected her mobility.

She alleged that he failed to provide support and even demanded that she obtain a loan to pay rent, which she did, only for him to reportedly collect the money and leave the family without assistance.

The woman further stated that they were later evicted from their residence and had to seek temporary shelter in a church. She also accused Rasheed of neglecting to pay the children’s school fees, despite repeated appeals.

She explained that during this period, their late son fell ill, and she struggled to finance his medical care through loans and support from well-wishers.

She called on Nigerians for assistance and claimed that Rasheed has taken custody of their two surviving children.
