Six worshippers were abducted by armed bandits in a Kaduna mosque, with ransom demands of N30 million issued for their release
Armed bandits abducted six worshippers from a mosque in Azara community, Kachia Local Government Area, during Taraweeh prayers on Thursday, local sources confirmed on Monday.

A resident, Tanimu Ibrahim, told Daily Trust that the attackers fired sporadically into the air before seizing four men and two women.
The assailants also raided a nearby house while fleeing, abducting two additional individuals who later escaped.
A community leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the victims as Saifullahi Harisu, Yakubu Yunusa, Abba Minkailu, Yusha’u Sadiku, Maryam Abdullahi, and Aisha Yakubu.
According to the leader, the kidnappers contacted the community on Friday morning, demanding a N30 million ransom before abruptly disconnecting.
Police sources confirmed the abduction but referred further inquiries to the Kaduna State Police Command.

The incident highlights growing security concerns in parts of Kaduna State, particularly around religious centres during nightly prayers in Ramadan.
