Eucharia Anunobi men financial role comment sparks debate as the Nollywood actress says a man’s ability to provide boosts confidence in relationships
Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has said that a man’s financial independence plays a central role in shaping his confidence and sense of identity within a relationship.

Anunobi made the remarks during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where she discussed relationship dynamics and the traditional expectations placed on men in romantic partnerships.
Speaking during the interview, the actress argued that many men feel incomplete when they rely financially on women.
“There’s no man that feels like he’s a complete man when a woman is feeding him. Forget it, don’t let anybody deceive you. There is no man,” Anunobi said.
According to the actress, the ability to provide, even modestly, gives men a sense of pride and authority in relationships.
“That’s why it’s expedient for a man to have his own money. Because if you say you want to depend on my own money, you know that you feel less than a man,” she said.
Anunobi explained that financial contribution to household needs such as rent, electricity bills and food remains an important expectation in many relationships, even when both partners earn income.
The actress noted that women can also contribute financially but maintained that many men prefer to maintain a sense of responsibility as providers.
Beyond financial responsibilities, Anunobi also spoke about the emotional satisfaction some women derive from receiving gifts or financial support from their partners.
“The joy of a woman is having my man give me and say baby, take this one and cook soup,” she said.
The veteran actress added that even financially independent women may still appreciate gestures of support from their partners, describing such moments as meaningful expressions of care and commitment.
