JMG Limited has intensified its push for sustainable energy solutions with an engineering walk in Victoria Island, Lagos, aimed at promoting solar adoption and advancing engineering sustainability.

JMG solar adoption Lagos initiative was unveiled during the walk, organised to mark World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development.
The event began at the company’s head office and drew participation from engineering students, professional bodies, and industry stakeholders.
Participants included students from the University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology, alongside members of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Influencers and company employees also joined the walk, reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainable engineering practices.
Speaking at the event, JMG’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rabi Jammal, said the initiative was designed to spotlight the broader importance of sustainable engineering.
“Sustainable engineering is about designing systems that are efficient, reliable, and built to last,” Jammal said.
“Solar energy is one part of that conversation, but the bigger picture is how engineering can sustainably power our lives and industries.”
The initiative comes at a critical time, as Nigeria continues to grapple with rising energy costs and inconsistent power supply.
JMG emphasised that integrating cleaner energy sources such as solar into wider engineering systems can reduce dependence on costly and environmentally harmful alternatives.
The company’s operations span power generation, electrical infrastructure, vertical transportation, cooling systems, and air compressors, reflecting a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Within this framework, solar energy remains a key driver of innovation due to its affordability and reliability.

Plant Manager Fouad El Chami reinforced the company’s commitment to practical implementation, noting that sustainable engineering requires continuous improvement and integration of new technologies.
He said solar energy supports reduced consumption and promotes a cleaner environment, while also enabling cost-effective solutions tailored to Nigeria’s evolving energy landscape.
Beyond advocacy, JMG has demonstrated its commitment by powering its headquarters with solar energy as part of an integrated engineering system, showcasing real-world application of sustainable practices.
