Busola Oke, known for her distinctive style in the gospel music scene, said she is increasingly overwhelmed by what she described as relentless fault-finding, regardless of the artistic direction she chooses.

In a heartfelt video shared online, the singer questioned the expectations placed on her, asking why her efforts consistently attract negative reactions.

Busola Oke said that attempts to stay authentic often lead to comparisons with other artistes, while efforts to adapt to audience preferences result in fresh criticism.

The gospel singer noted that some detractors have gone as far as questioning her relevance, describing her as “too old” for certain styles of music.

The comments, she suggested, have been both confusing and disheartening.

“What do people really want from me? There is nothing I do that is good in your eyes,” Busola Oke said, in what many viewers described as a powerful and revealing moment.

The emotional tone of the message intensified as Busola Oke wondered whether she had unknowingly offended her critics, before issuing a direct and striking plea for space.

“What is the problem? Leave me alone,” she added.

The video has since sparked conversation among fans and industry observers, with some expressing support for the singer’s honesty, while others pointed to the pressures faced by public figures in navigating audience expectations.
