Emmanuel Umoh recently announced his engagement to US-based Cameroonian partner, Cilia Nyanghe, sharing pre-wedding photos ahead of their ceremony scheduled for April 17.
Reacting via social media, Phyna congratulated her colleague but questioned why male alumni of the reality show appear more likely to settle down than their female counterparts.
She argued that male contestants face less public scrutiny, particularly from mainstream media, compared to women, who are often subjected to allegations and criticism.
Phyna said the imbalance affects relationship prospects for female reality stars and asked who would support them in navigating public perception.
She described the current generation as struggling to find genuine love, noting that societal pressures and media narratives complicate relationships.
The comments reflect a broader conversation about fame, gender bias, and public image among former Big Brother Naija housemates.
Phyna’s remarks also draw from her personal experiences. The reality star previously stated that choosing self-worth over unhealthy relationships helped her rediscover purpose and emotional stability.
In past interviews, she revealed a long-term relationship that lasted 12 years without leading to marriage, advising women against prolonged commitments without clear direction.
The outspoken personality has remained a subject of public interest, with past dating rumours and preferences sparking online debates.
Her relationship with fellow housemate Henry Olisaemeka Orakwue, known as Groovy, ended months after the show, further fuelling discussions about the pressures of reality TV relationships.
