Gbenga Daniel 70th birthday celebration message was issued on behalf of the Lagos State Government and its people, celebrating what Sanwo-Olu described as a remarkable journey of service, resilience and enduring national impact.
Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted Daniel’s transition from engineering into public service, noting his tenure as Governor of Ogun State and his ongoing role as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as evidence of sustained dedication to governance.
He praised Daniel’s contributions to infrastructure development, industrialisation and good governance, describing them as powerful achievements that remain deeply embedded in the development history of Ogun State and the wider South-West region.
According to the governor, the former governor’s public service record has earned him respect and admiration across political and regional boundaries.
Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged the launch of four publications in honour of the milestone birthday, including Daniel in the Lions’ Den, My March Through the Courts, Path to Justice, and Otunba Gbenga Daniel – In the Eyes of Time.
He described the works as a reflection of courage, conviction and commitment to justice.
He added that the books would serve as valuable reference materials for scholars, policymakers and future generations interested in leadership and governance.
