Comoros Super Falcons Clash confirmed after Comoros defeated Sudan 30-0 on aggregate in 2028 Olympic qualifiers second round

The Comoros women’s national team has secured a place against African champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the second round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers after a dominant 30-0 aggregate victory over Sudan.

Comoros produced a ruthless display across both legs of the first round, winning the opening fixture 17-0 before sealing a comprehensive 13-0 triumph in the return match.

The emphatic result sets up a high-profile Comoros Super Falcons Clash, with Nigeria’s women’s team widely regarded as the most successful side in African football and firm favourites heading into the next stage of qualification.

Super Falcons are expected to provide a far sterner test after Comoros’ one-sided encounter with Sudan, which highlighted the gulf in experience and quality between the two sides.

Nigeria’s preparations for the qualifier remain encouraging, with Justine Madugu’s team continuing their strong form in recent friendlies. The Super Falcons recorded a 3-0 victory over Senegal at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday night, following a 2-1 win over the same opposition in an earlier fixture.

Super Falcons clash  “Comoros” will take place in the second-round qualifiers scheduled between October 5 and October 13, 2026.

Only two African nations will qualify for the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA, increasing the stakes significantly for all teams involved.

The Super Falcons, who have long dominated women’s football on the continent, are expected to enter the tie as overwhelming favourites as they continue their quest for another Olympic appearance.
