Seyi Vibez Adekunle Gold feud intensifies after controversial lyrics on Fuji Xtra triggered heated reactions online

A fresh controversy has erupted in Nigeria’s music industry after Seyi Vibez launched a blistering attack on fellow artiste Adekunle Gold over lyrics contained in Adekunle Gold’s newly released Fuji Xtra deluxe project.

The dispute centres on the track Life of the Faaji, where Adekunle Gold sings, “They love my fuji, this no be Fuji Moto.”

The lyric quickly ignited speculation among fans, many of whom interpreted the line as a subtle jab at Seyi Vibez’s FUJI MOTO project released in late 2025.

Listeners across social media platforms argued that the lyric appeared to position Adekunle Gold’s Fuji-inspired sound as the more authentic version while indirectly dismissing Seyi Vibez’s branding and musical direction.

The brewing tension escalated dramatically on Friday when Seyi Vibez took to X, formerly known as Twitter, with a series of heated posts directed at the Afrobeats star.

“You are wack. Adekunle Gold you’re wack. And your swag is wack. Old fool!” Seyi Vibez wrote in one post.

The singer later intensified the attack with another message written partly in Yoruba slang.

The latest clash follows months of growing comparisons between both artistes over their embrace of Fuji-inspired sounds within contemporary Afrobeats and street-pop music.

Adekunle Gold first explored Fuji elements on his album Fuji, released in October 2025, blending traditional rhythms with modern pop production and melodic influences.

Weeks later, Seyi Vibez released FUJI MOTO, a project widely praised by fans for deepening his signature street-pop style through heavy Fuji-inspired instrumentation and vocals.

The similarity in themes and titles immediately triggered debate among listeners, with supporters of both artistes arguing over originality and influence.

The release of Adekunle Gold’s Fuji Xtra deluxe edition on May 8, 2026, reignited the conversation and pushed the rivalry into a more public and volatile phase.

Neither Adekunle Gold nor his management had officially responded to Seyi Vibez’s remarks as of Friday evening.

The Seyi Vibez Adekunle Gold feud has since dominated online entertainment discussions, with fans sharply divided over whether the controversial lyric was a deliberate diss or simply artistic wordplay tied to Fuji-inspired music culture.

The dramatic exchange also highlights the increasing competition within Nigeria’s evolving Afrobeats and street-pop scene, where branding, influence and musical identity continue to shape fierce fan loyalty and industry rivalries.
