Chelsea confirm Xabi Alonso appointment as men’s team manager on a four-year deal starting July 2026
Chelsea Football Club on Sunday confirmed the appointment of former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso as manager of the club’s men’s team, with the Spaniard set to take charge at Stamford Bridge on July 1, 2026.

Chelsea said Alonso had signed a four-year contract as the club begins a decisive new era under one of Europe’s most highly rated coaches.
The Xabi Alonso appointment comes after the Spaniard enjoyed a remarkable spell at Bayer Leverkusen, guiding the German side to the first Bundesliga title in the club’s history and earning widespread acclaim for his tactical intelligence and leadership.
