The Cubana Chief Priest APC primary defeat came as he was beaten by incumbent lawmaker Canice Moore Nwachukwu, who secured the party’s ticket for the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a viral video, Cubana Chief Priest disclosed that he secured only 14 votes in the primary, describing the outcome as disappointing but part of his political journey.
The socialite said he has no regrets about contesting the election, noting that he sees himself as a hustler who is not afraid to take risks. However, he expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of loyalty from some community elders he had supported.
Cubana Chief Priest has been a visible supporter of the ruling party in recent years and previously served as Imo State director of the City Boy Movement, a youth support group aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
His political shift from being a former supporter of Peter Obi to a strong advocate of the APC has often attracted public attention and debate online.
