A female POS operator sustained severe leg injuries during a horrific Lagos container crash after an articulated truck overturned at Second Rainbow

A female Point of Sale operator suffered severe lower-limb injuries after a fully loaded forty-foot container truck lost control and overturned onto a commercial shuttle bus and roadside businesses at Second Rainbow inward Oshodi, Lagos, today.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed that the devastating Lagos container crash occurred along the service lane beside the Police Tactical Team Station.

According to the traffic management agency, the articulated vehicle veered erratically off its path while in motion, toppling onto the mini shuttle bus and ramming directly into nearby informal shops.

The impact caused extensive structural damage to the commercial hub.

The injured commercial operator, who was conducting transactions under a roadside canopy when the incident occurred, sustained serious crush injuries to both legs.

Officers of the Police Tactical Team immediately initiated a rescue operation on the scene and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.

The driver of the articulated truck was arrested at the scene by eyewitnesses and emergency responders before being handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for formal investigation and potential prosecution.

Officers from the Orile-Iganmu Police Division arrived shortly afterward to commence comprehensive documentation of the collision site.

The traffic management personnel managed the incident scene efficiently, ensuring that traffic flow along the busy Oshodi corridor was largely maintained despite the catastrophic destruction.

A heavy-duty recovery tow truck was deployed to evacuate the overturned vehicle and the mangled mini shuttle bus from the service lane.

The General Manager of the traffic agency, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, issued a stern directive to truck operators, fleet managers, and logistics companies to conduct rigorous mechanical checks on heavy-duty vehicles before deployment.

Olalekan Bakare-Oki warned that substandard vehicle maintenance represents a catastrophic threat to public safety and infrastructure across the state.
