Rachael Alamu abducted principal captivity statement refutes claims of ransom and Sharia demands after 24 days in captivity

The abducted principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, Rachael Alamu, has publicly rejected reports circulating in sections of the media alleging that her abductors demanded the release of certain individuals, a billionaire ransom, and the introduction of Sharia law in Nigeria.

Rachael Alamu’s statement on her captivity as abducted school principal was made during a recorded clarification in which she said misinformation was worsening the situation after 24 days in captivity.

Speaking from her place of detention, Rachael Alamu explained that the claims being circulated were not true and urged that inaccurate reports were complicating efforts linked to the case.

She specifically dismissed suggestions that her abductors had tied her release to political or religious conditions, including the enforcement of Sharia law, describing such reports as false and misleading.

Rachael Alamu noted that the situation had lasted for over three weeks, adding that ongoing speculation in the media was increasing emotional strain and confusion around the incident.

The abducted principal’s clarification comes amid growing concerns about the spread of unverified information in kidnapping cases, which security analysts say can interfere with rescue operations and negotiations.

Authorities have yet to issue an updated official briefing on the case, while attention continues to focus on the safety and eventual release of Rachael Alamu.

The case has drawn renewed calls for responsible reporting as communities await further developments.
