Oyebanji mega rally is expected to draw top APC leaders and thousands of supporters ahead of the Ekiti governorship election
The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress Governorship Election Campaign Council has said Tuesday’s grand finale campaign rally for Governor Biodun Oyebanji will serve as a powerful demonstration of public support for his re-election bid ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

The council said Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC governors, national leaders of the party, members of the National Assembly, ministers and thousands of supporters from within and outside Ekiti State are expected to attend the event in Ado Ekiti.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Director of Media and Communication of the Campaign Council, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the rally would be held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion on New Iyin Road and would support the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his running mate, Mrs Monisade Afuye.
According to Olatunbosun, the Oyebanji Mega Rally marks the culmination of an extensive grassroots campaign that has reached communities, wards and local government areas across the state.
He described the gathering as one of the largest political events expected in Ekiti State in recent years and said it would reflect the widespread acceptance of the governor’s second-term aspiration.
Olatunbosun stated that the campaign had received endorsements from traditional rulers, professional bodies, market associations, artisans, youth groups, women organisations, civil servants, retirees, religious leaders and political stakeholders across party lines.
He said the broad support base demonstrated growing confidence in Oyebanji’s leadership and governance style.
“The anticipated presence of the Vice President, APC governors and other top party leaders reflects the strategic importance of Ekiti State to the APC and underscores the confidence of the party’s leadership in Governor Oyebanji’s performance, popularity and capacity to consolidate the gains of his administration,” he said.
The campaign council credited the governor’s administration with achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, security, tourism and economic growth.
According to the statement, Oyebanji’s inclusive governance approach and emphasis on consensus-building have helped unite different segments of the state behind a shared development agenda.
The council further argued that the level of support recorded during the statewide campaign tour reflected the trust residents have in the governor’s leadership.
It said many citizens had expressed appreciation for what it described as Oyebanji’s humility, accessibility and responsiveness to public concerns.
Olatunbosun added that the grand finale rally would celebrate the administration’s achievements while providing an opportunity for supporters to reaffirm their commitment to the continuity of ongoing programmes and policies.
“The rally will be a powerful statement of unity and a clear signal that Ekiti people are determined to consolidate on the remarkable gains recorded over the last four years,” he said.
He maintained that the event would demonstrate support for sustaining peace, stability, development and inclusive governance in the state.

The campaign council also assured participants that adequate security and logistical arrangements had been put in place and urged attendees to comply with security and traffic regulations throughout the event.
