Eleko, Lagos – Dr. Kester Awani has officially been installed as the 3rd President of the Rotary Club of Eleko Golden, District 9112, marking the beginning of a new Rotary year with a renewed commitment to humanitarian service, community development, and fellowship.
The installation ceremony, attended by Rotarians, community leaders, family members, and distinguished guests, celebrated the club’s achievements during the tenure of the immediate past president, Tobias Tobechukwu Igwekaile, while ushering in a new era of leadership under Dr. Awani.
The event highlighted Rotary’s enduring mission of “Service Above Self” and the club’s dedication to making a lasting impact within Eleko and its surrounding communities.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Awani expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by members of the club and pledged to lead with integrity, inclusiveness, and purpose.
He emphasized the importance of teamwork, innovation, and partnerships in addressing pressing community needs, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
“I am deeply honoured to serve as the 3rd President of the Rotary Club of Eleko Golden,” Dr. Awani said. “This is a responsibility I accept with humility and determination. Together with our dedicated members and partners, we will build on the club’s legacy of impactful service while creating new opportunities to transform lives and strengthen our communities.”

Dr. Awani outlined his vision for the year, noting that the club would intensify efforts to implement sustainable service projects, expand membership, enhance public image, and foster greater collaboration with government agencies, corporate organisations, and non-governmental organisations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rotary leaders commended the outgoing executive led by Tobias Tobechukwu Igwekaile for their stewardship and expressed confidence in Dr. Awani’s ability to lead the club to greater accomplishments.
They described him as a seasoned professional and committed humanitarian whose leadership qualities align with Rotary’s core values of service, fellowship, integrity, diversity, and leadership.
The Rotary Club of Eleko Golden, one of the vibrant clubs within District 9112, has distinguished itself through numerous community service initiatives, including health outreaches, educational support programmes, environmental sanitation campaigns, and youth development projects.

Under Dr. Awani’s leadership, members expressed optimism that the club would deepen its impact and continue to respond effectively to the needs of underserved communities.
