A woman was crushed to death by a truck on Saturday evening after she fell from a commercial motorcycle along the Agbara–Lusada Expressway in Ogun State.

The fatal accident occurred at Cashier Bus Stop in the Agbara area, where the motorcycle rider was reportedly attempting to overtake a moving truck when the tragedy happened.

According to eyewitness accounts, the motorcycle lost balance during the overtaking manoeuvre, causing the female passenger to fall onto the roadway. She was subsequently run over by the truck and died at the scene.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident to manage traffic and evacuate the victim’s body from the expressway.

The truck driver was taken into custody as authorities commenced an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Road safety authorities have repeatedly warned commercial motorcycle operators against dangerous overtaking and reckless driving, particularly on busy highways where collisions with heavy-duty vehicles often result in fatal consequences.

The incident has renewed concerns over the safety of motorcycle passengers on the Agbara–Lusada corridor, one of Ogun State’s busiest industrial routes with frequent movement of articulated trucks.
