Dangote Group founder Aliko Dangote told the Qatar Economic Forum that the group would list its fertiliser arm in a Dangote fertiliser IPO in 2028, and joked about viral “board meeting” memes from new buyers of Dangote Petroleum Refinery shares.
Asked about bringing in more owners, Aliko Dangote said the group still built most things alone.

“No, we have actually everything we do by ourselves. We don’t have partners. But that’s why we are now looking for all these massive number of people to now become our partners.” On the social media run after the refinery’s “people’s IPO,” he said, “You must have seen that they’ve been calling me now for a board meeting.”
Retail buyers of as few as 10 shares have posted mock certificates as “chief investment officer” or “co-founder,” and clips about checking plant output or holding virtual meetings with Aliko Dangote.
On fertiliser he was direct. “Oh, yeah, yeah. I mean, we will IPO it. It’s going to be the biggest fertilizer company on earth.” Asked when: “Yes, it will be 2028.”
Dangote Fertiliser runs a $2.5 billion plant at Ibeju-Lekki with about three million tonnes of urea a year. The group has spoken of lifting output to about 12 million tonnes a year by 2028, including Nigeria and a proposed Ethiopia plant.
