The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the alleged killing of a police officer’s wife in Gombe metropolis.
The suspects are being held over alleged criminal conspiracy, robbery and culpable homicide involving Aishatu Salisu, wife of Inspector Salisu Waziri of the Safer Highway Patrol Team.

Command spokesman DSP Buhari Abdullahi said this in a statement issued in Gombe on Sunday, 27 September 2026.
Abdullahi said the attack happened at about 4.35 a.m. on 25 September at Wuro Shie Quarters.
The suspects, whose names were withheld, allegedly broke into the officer’s home armed with machetes and cutlasses and tried to take Aishatu’s mobile phone.
He said the woman raised an alarm. One of the suspects then allegedly stabbed her with a machete before both men fled and left the phone behind.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Pantami Divisional Patrol Team immediately mobilised to the scene, and rushed the victim to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, where she was certified dead,” Abdullahi said.
The two suspects were arrested on 26 September after intelligence-led operations.
“Both suspects are residents of Wuro Shie Quarters, Gombe,” he said.
Police recovered a knife from them. The case has been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

Abdullahi said the command remained committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
The allegations have not been tested in court.
