A man and his son have died in a road crash involving a commercial tricycle in Plateau State.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at about 4:20 pm at Sabon Barki in Jos South Local Government Area.
According to reports, the Keke NAPEP was conveying a family returning from church when it was hit by another vehicle and caught fire.
An eyewitness, Kefas Gyang, told journalists that the fire made rescue difficult.
He said the victims’ mother sustained a broken leg, while two other children and the tricycle rider were taken to hospital for treatment.
Gyang alleged that the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State, Peter Longsan, confirmed the deaths.
He said two male victims were trapped under the vehicle and that the bus driver who caused the accident ran away.
Longsan urged motorists to exercise caution and obey traffic rules.
