The Peoples Democratic Party-led Rainbow Coalition in Bayelsa State has unveiled a campaign timetable in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, beginning with three days of fasting and prayers from November 5 to 7, 2026.
The coalition plans to mobilise supporters across Bayelsa’s 105 wards and work with the All Progressives Congress to strengthen Tinubu’s support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The schedule was announced by Bayelsa PDP Publicity Secretary Ikaebimo Mark in a statement signed by the coalition’s State Organising Secretary, T. Godspower.
Following the fasting and prayer sessions, the group will hold a campaign dedication and thanksgiving service on November 8.
The coalition is scheduled to inaugurate its Bayelsa State Campaign Council on November 9, commission its campaign secretariat and unveil campaign buses reportedly donated by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Campaign materials, including T-shirts, face caps and banners, will be distributed across the local government areas between November 10 and 15.
The timetable also provides for senatorial district campaign flag-offs and the presentation of flags to candidates in Bayelsa Central, Bayelsa West and Bayelsa East between November 17 and 21.
The coalition has scheduled its grand finale for December 12, when it plans to formally adopt and endorse Tinubu as its preferred presidential candidate.
Bayelsa PDP leader Chief Alabh Turnah expressed confidence that the alliance could mobilise support for Tinubu and candidates associated with the coalition.
Turnah described the inclusion of Wike, the coalition’s national leader and grand patron, in Tinubu’s presidential campaign structure as an indication of the administration’s confidence in the group’s ability to attract support across party lines.
“On our part in Bayelsa, we are going to reciprocate President Bola Tinubu’s confidence by mobilising all our members across the 105 wards in the state to deliver massive votes for his re-election,” Turnah said.
He added that the coalition would highlight projects and development initiatives associated with the Tinubu administration, particularly those undertaken by the Niger Delta Development Commission in Bayelsa, as part of its campaign message.
Turnah also claimed that the PDP retained strong grassroots support in the state and argued that its political structures could help the President reach voters beyond the APC’s traditional support base.
He urged the Bayelsa APC leadership to work with the coalition rather than regard it as a rival, warning that a campaign managed without broader political cooperation could face difficulties in some communities.
“We want to appeal again to the APC leadership not to see us as an adversary but as a partner willing to work hand-in-hand to deliver President Bola Tinubu in Bayelsa State,” he said.
The planned alliance reflects an effort to build cross-party support for Tinubu in Bayelsa, where the PDP-led group intends to use its local political networks to mobilise voters.
Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission lists January 16, 2027, as the scheduled date for the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The coalition’s planned activities are political mobilisation events, distinct from the formal commencement of election campaigns under the electoral timetable.

The coalition’s claims about its grassroots influence and its ability to deliver votes remain assertions by its leaders. Its electoral impact will ultimately depend on voter response and the outcome of the election.
